The Versus Screen — Physical CD
The Versus Screen is a 15-track collection of fan-made retro game tribute songs celebrating the fights, rivalries, championship battles, and over-the-top arcade competition of the NES and SNES era.
Blending hard rock, heavy metal, funk metal, industrial rock, punk, hip-hop, synth-rock, and retro game-inspired electronics, the album transforms classic sports games, fighting games, and arcade challenges into high-energy Cartridge Punks anthems.
From Little Mac climbing the boxing ranks in Punch-Out!! and the ice-rink brawls of Blades of Steel to the outrageous dunks of NBA Jam, the chaotic fighters of ClayFighter, and the bone-crushing battles of Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat, every track captures a different kind of competition.
Championship belts, last-second shots, racing rivalries, ridiculous knockouts, and prehistoric showdowns all have their place here. Even Pipe Dream joins the action, turning a frantic puzzle game into a race against mounting pressure.
Some battles are fought for glory. Others are fought for survival, bragging rights, or one more chance to beat the competition. The Versus Screen brings the noise, attitude, and arcade excitement of the cartridge era together in one original Cartridge Punks collection.
